Getting started with Video Call in four easy steps

Four easy steps for creating an account and seeing patients and clients via Video Call


Healthdirect Video Call is a simple and secure Australian government funded video consulting platform purpose built for health consultations. Video Call is free and easy to use for clinicians and patients alike and our support team is here to assist every step of the way.

Follow these 4 easy steps to get started:

1. Create your virtual clinic. This is usually done by the telehealth manager or organisation administrator for telehealth in your organisation.

To create a new organisation contact your jurisdictional lead/team to find out more information and apply. 
2. The nominated Clinic Administrator sets up their account, signs in, adds Team Members and configures the clinic to suit their needs.
3. Team Members sign in, access the clinic waiting area dashboard and send the clinic link to patients/clients via email, SMS or via integration with the clinic administration software. 
4. Health service providers join video calls with their patients/clients in the clinic waiting area and provide video consultations.

Video Call overview:

Free to set up and use for eligible health services providing public health consultations.
Health service providers and clinic administrators can get set up quickly with an account.
Browser based. No software downloads or application configuration required.
Patients/clients simply click on a link to start a Video Call - they do not need an account or health service provider contact details.
Waiting area model mimics health service's current workflow. A virtual clinic set up with flexibility to suit your model of care.
Safe and secure - all connections are encrypted and no patient data is stored. Health service and service provider details are kept private.
