    Web browser requirements

    Make sure you are using a supported browser to get the best experience

    Users require one of the following web browsers to use Video Call: 

    • Windows, Android, MacOS
    Google Chrome - Version 72 or later
    • MacOS, Windows

    Microsoft Edge - Version 79 or later
    • Windows
    Firefox - Version 68 or later
    • MacOS, iOS
    Apple Safari - Version 12.0 or later
    Please note: on MacOS Video Call is optimised using the Chrome browser.
    • Android
    Microsoft Edge - Version 44 or later


    Video Call always recommends using the latest version of Chrome or Safari for best video calling performance. 

    How do I know if I have the latest browser version?

    This website displays the name and version of the web browser you are currently using.

    Clearing your browser's cached files

    When you visit websites your browser stores files to reference later. These files are stored in a 'cache'. For example, your browser may save images you've seen so that they don't have to be downloaded every single time you revisit the site. This cache saves you time and data. Cached files, however, can stop you from seeing updated images and clickable buttons on a website and this can cause confusion. Clearing the cache just means emptying it, so the next time you display a webpage, the latest version will load and reference files be downloaded again. If you are experiencing issues you can clear the cache files for a particular site by pressing Shift-Refresh, Shift-F5 (on a PC) or Ctrl-Shift-R. Simply clicking on the Refresh button will not clear the cache. You should clear your cache regularly just to ensure the best experience when browsing websites.
