Service Finder application
Find a health service for your patient by accessing the National Health Services Directory in your call
Coming Soon:
The Service Finder application enables clinicians to search Healthdirect's National Health Services Directory (NHSD) directly in the call screen and share health service information with their patient. Clinicians can search for an appropriate health service, for example a GP clinic, allied health or specialist clinic. The app returns information regarding health services based on the patient's location and needs, enabling continuity of care for patients who require follow up and further care.
Service information is provided by Healthdirect's National Health Services Directory (NHSD) and is not interpreted, verified or endorsed by the app. Listed providers remain responsible for the accuracy and currency of their own details, and the app does not diagnose, triage or make clinical recommendations.

How to use the Service Finder application
The app is available for health service providers in Apps & Tools during a call, if your patient requires follow up with another service. For example you may be referring them to a nearby specialist health service. See below for more information:
During your call, click on Apps & Tools and select Service Finder.

The app opens on your screen. Depending on the set up chosen by your clinic administrator, your patient will either see the app mirrored on their screen, or a message that you are finding a service for them. There are various parameters and functions available in the app, to refine your search. These are outlined below.

Firstly, set the search area to search for a service. There are several options:
- Type in the preferred address, suburb or postcode. eg the patient's address.
- Click on the button asking the patient for their address, which sends them an option to input the address and submit to you.
Use your current location, if location services are enabled.
Here, we are looking for a service near Tempe, NSW. Select the best option from the locations results list.

Next, select the type of service you are looking for, from the drop-down selector.

In this example, we are searching for a GP Practice. The distance limit from the selected address defaults to 4km. In this example we have increased this to 5km. Adjust the distance to suit the patient's requirements.

There are various filters to refine the search. These are optional and depend on the patient's requirements. You can, for example, type in a service name if you are looking for a specific health service.

You can also filter by billing method and appointment type. Please now that ‘Any appointment’ includes in-person appointments.
.
The Any language field will display languages available in the clinic, once a health service is selected. This will only populate if that information has been supplied by the service to the NHSD.

Select any of the checkbox filters, if required.

- Wheelchair access
- Accessible parking
- Free parking
Rest filters will remove any filters you have applied. When you have all the search parameter set, click Search.

The app will display the results on your screen. If the app is set up to have the patient screen follow your screen, the patient will also see the results. The app may be set up to hide the results form the patient until the clinician shares a result with them.
Clicking on a listed service displays their details, to the right of the results. If the app is mirroring on the patient's screen they can see the information you see.

Click Email or SMS Details to share the information with your patient. This option will persist once the call ends. Please note SMS can only be used to sent to Australian numbers.

Click View on Service Finder to see the listing in the Service Finder website. Or Copy Link and send to the patient, so they can view on the Service Finder website - this option will mean they have the service link in their browser once the call ends.

If the app has been configured to hide the results from the patient, you will have the option to Share With Others, for the listing to appear in their call screen.

When you no longer require the app you can close it using the X at top right. Use the minimise button to keep the app open in a minimised view. Please remember, the information in the application does not persist in Video Call once the call ends.
