Coming Soon to healthdirect Video Call
Find out what is coming soon to Video Call - including added functionality and design updates
Service Finder application
The Service Finder application enables clinicians to search Healthdirect's National Health Services Directory (NHSD) directly in the call screen and share health service information with their patient. Clinicians can search for an appropriate health service, for example a GP clinic, allied health or specialist clinic. The app returns information regarding health services based on the patient's location and needs, enabling continuity of care for patients who require follow up and further care. Live Captions updates
The Live Captions application, enabling speech to text during a Video Call, will soon have an improved user interface with new layout options, font and colours to increase usability and accessibility. The will also be a new PDF design and an option to send the captions to a required location, using API integration. Click here for more information about Live Captions.

Updates to Bulk Billing Consent Form
The Bulk Billing Consent form in the Virtual Forms application will be updated to include an option for Patient URN and the ability to select whether the person giving consent is the patient or an authorised representative. This image shows the new URN number field and the selection for who is providing consent.

Bandwidth reporting in Call Log
The newly released Call log tab in the clinic waiting area will soon display bandwidth information to help diagnose call quality issues. This tab also has information regarding completed and abandoned calls, including call start time, call duration, the name of the host and call activity. Call log displays all completed and abandoned calls (indicated with a red arrow), for the past seven days. Click here for more information.
Sound application
In collaboration with SA Health, we will soon be introducing a Video Call Sound application, for use in specialties including speech therapy and other clinical use cases. This application provides clinical information about a person's vocal volume and pitch and can be used as an assessment or feedback tool. Example screenshots are shown in the overview below:
| Once the application is launched, you can select to either Speak or Listen. | ![]() |
| Once Speak or Listen is selected, select the required participant and the required microphone. Both the patient or clinician can select the required microphone. |
|
| Once selected, the application starts to measure the volume and pitch of the speaker's voice, shows the data live in a dial and graphs. |
