Troubleshooting pre-call test internet quality issues

Discover tips and strategies for resolving internet quality issues that may impact your pre-call test experiences, ensuring smooth communication and connection during virtual meetings and calls.

When you conduct a Pre-call test, it may warn you about internet quality issues. Internet quality issues can be temporary and even with a warning you may still be able to make Video Call. It is, however, always a good idea to ensure a reliable internet connection for Video Call.

Here are several ways you can try to improve your internet speed:

  • Close all other open browser tabs on your computer or device and close apps on your mobile phone that may be using the internet.
  • If you are using mobile internet (eg your 4 or 5G internet connection), try switching to Wi-Fi, or vice versa.
  • If using Wi-Fi, try moving closer to the wireless router (your modem).
  • If you are on mobile internet, try moving to find better reception. Also check if you can switch between 3G/4G/5G in your mobile network settings.
  • Try to use a wired connection for your computer and router if Wi-Fi is having issues (eg use an ethernet connection, if available).
  • Do a speed test by clicking here and report the results to your Internet Service Provider if the download and upload speed is not what you expect for your plan.
